More star trails with the moon as a sidekick

Here is another star trail image from last week. This time I used a fish-eye lens for an ultra-wide field of view. This meant that the moon that was almost on the opposite side from where the camera was facing got caught up in the frame and produced the bright wide trail on the left. The final image is composed from about 580 images that were taken in little less than five hours.

  1. Great shots. I’m so impressed with how well your camera and lens survived the cold. Not even a sock or anything to keep them warm? Is it an 8mm fisheye, you used?
