Muskrats and a grass snake in Suomenoja

I went to the unofficial bird sanctuary in Suomenoja today thinking of getting some nice shots of a few ducklings. The day turned out better than expected since I happened to see some muskrat (piisami) babies and also a full grown muskrat. The little ones were quite courageous and when I sat still they wandered up from the water to eat the fresh grass spouts. Still they were pretty hard to photograph since there was almost always grass, leaves or shrubs in the way. Later I had chance encounter with a grass snake (rantakäärme) while photographing some flowers. So all in all a pretty good afternoon and managed to see the ducklings with their mother too. Smile
